SEND US A STORY is a new and exciting competition which combines the concepts of both visual and creative writing. This format offers children a new, fun and interesting way to express themselves, while using their imaginations and developing their writing skills.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each Age Group is provided with 5 picture symbols. Children are to choose one symbol which we call the Focus Symbol and then use this word in their story either 3, 4 or 5 times depending on which Age Group they are in. The Focus Symbol must always be highlighted in red when used throughout the story. They must then use the 4 remaining symbols once each and highlight them in blue.
All stories have a maximum word count for each Age Group. See Example.
Entries are required to have the Child's First Name and their Registration Number written clearly on the back of the entry for it to be valid. All stories are to be typed in Microsoft Word and printed on A4 paper, with the wordcount displayed in brackets at the bottom of your story and received by the closing date specified.
If your child is too young to use a computer Adults may type the story for them.
